Thunderbolt is speed, fun and excitement!  Departing from Cairns at 9.30am you'll be taken on a thrill ride to Fitzroy Island, located just off the coast from Cairns.

Thunderbolt 1 is one of a kind, travelling at 80 kilometres an hour, it is the first of a new generation of high speed reef boats which combines the speed of smaller light-weight run abouts operated by the Navy and Army assault units, with the sea going safety of an offshore patrol vessel.

Situated only 45 minutes from Cairns, Fitzroy Island is one of the most unspoilt islands on the Great Barrier Reef. From the Island you will be kitted up with lifejackets and snorkeling gear, ready to go on your first snorkel adventure.

You will spend about 1 hour at the exclusive snorkelling site off Fitzroy Island. You will then return to the Island for a 30min lunch break before you go on your second snorkel site. You will have another hour of pure snorkelling!

The half day morning tour runs Thursday to Monday departing Cairns at 9.30am and departing the Fitzroy Island at 1.30pm. Optionally, you may choose to stay and explore beautiful Fitzroy Island's beaches and National Parks walking tracks, catching the 4.30pm ferry back to Cairns.

Construction is currently taking place on Fitzroy Island, not all facilities are available!
