Kuranda Self Drive - Trinity Beach

Start your day by driving from your hotel to the Skyrail Station at Caravonica where you can park your car free for the day.

Your coach will be waiting at 8:50am for your transfer to Freshwater Station to board the Kuranda Scenic Rail at 9.45am for your journey to Kuranda.

The train journey will take you through 15 hand carved tunnels, across the giant bridge over Stony Creek, and will stop at Barron Gorge Observation Deck for photographs.

Upon arrival in Kuranda, the ‘village in the rainforest’ you have plenty of time to explore the many attractions, including the Heritage Markets which operate daily, Birdworld, Kuranda Koala Gardens or the Butterfly Sanctuary (own expense).

At 1:30pm board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your journey to Caravonica Lakes, where your car is waiting. The Skyrail will arrive at the Skyrail Station in Smithfield at 3pm. 

The Skyrail - Rainforest Cableway gives you the opportunity to be dropped into the middle of world heritage tropical rainforest and experience the forest from the safety and comfort of boardwalks surrounded by an amazing diversity of plants, animals and birdlife.

You will be carried over the 7.5km of pristine rainforest in gondola cabins just a few metres above the rainforest canopy.

How to Get There:
From Port Douglas/Northern Beaches you drive south towards Cairns.
Once you get pass Trinity Beach look out for the Smithfield Centre on your right.
Pass the centre and the roundabout and at the next roundabout you will see the sign for the Skyrail to your right.
This is Caravonica Station.
