07:30am Depart Cairns. Travel south, passing Walsh’s Pyramid and through the sugar town of Gordonvale, then up the Gillies Highway with views of the Mulgrave and Goldsborough Valleys.
09:00am Visit Lake Barrine a freshwater lake in a volcanic crater. A Devonshire Morning Tea is provided, then a Lake Cruise with full commentary on the local flora and the abundance of wildlife, followed by a guided walk through the rainforest to the Ancient Twin Kauri Pines.
10:35am Depart Lake Barrine
10:45am Visit the famous giant Curtain Fig Tree, one of the largest strangler figs in the world. Continue past Malanda Falls.
11:30am Stop at the spectacular Millaa Millaa Falls. One of the prettiest falls on the waterfalls circuit and one of the most photographed images in the Wet Tropics. This iconic natural waterfall is an unforgettable photo opportunity.
12:00pm Pass Windy Hill turbine wind farm. View the towering turbines built to harness the breeze and create green energy.
12:30pm Arrive at Woodleigh Cattle Station. Experience the real Australian outback, with an exclusive Guided Tour of the pioneer homestead by the family of its original settlers, followed by a delicious outback BBQ Lunch.
1:45pm Depart Woodleigh Cattle Station for Hallorans Hill Lookout, the highest point in Atherton, via Ravenshoe, Tumoulin then Kennedy Highway direct to Atherton.
Halloran’s Hill Lookout – Enjoy panoramic views from the highest point in Atherton over farmlands and the Seven Sisters volcanic landscape.
3:20pm Mt Uncle Distillery – Sample local produce and liquor at this agricultural farm, before returning to Cairns via the scenic Kuranda Range.
4:15pm Depart for Cairns vis the Kennedy Highway & Kuranda
5:30pm Arrive at your Cairns accommodation
